Spring Has Sprung!

Looks like Spring has finally sprung around here! It's about damn time, don't you think?

Using the March Easter Egg Shadowbox Kit from Alpha Stamps, plus a few extra goodies I made two Spring-themed boxes. Unlike the now sold-out kit, these little shadowboxes were around at Easter and they'll be out for a while longer. They're so cute, and I love the little vintage wooden Easter ornament from my stash and it's finally Spring! While I happen to love wintertime, this year has been especially craptastic and I am ready for the change.  Never fear about the sold out kit, there are still many components of the kit left that you could buy individually if you like. Just click here.

Glad I had plenty of sheet moss on hand for these two shadowboxes as it really helped me fill in extra space, prop the little chick up in the bunny box and provide a soft space for the rabbit and chicks to sit on. If you look back behind the basket, you can maybe see the extra moss that I used with the tiny purple flowers here and there. That was done to make it seem like an extension of the purple flowers and greenery in the background image.

By the way, did you happen to notice what the wooden bunny is holding? You didn't? Well here's a closeup of him offering you a pretty little rose...

Wait! Don't leave just yet - Mr. Chick Adeez is about to go out for his morning walk. Perhaps you'd like to wave hello and wish him a good day? (Have a look at that bowl he's smoking, he must be from my home state of California!)

Yes, of course I am snickering and laughing like a juvenile delinquent over that, but I digress.

Super-duper easy box to put together. Cover box and lid with paper (or paint it if you'd rather), choose your background image. Before gluing it in, be sure to double check that when you look through the egg opening, you see the part of the image that you want to show through.

The opening of the egg and all sides of the box were edged with Nuvo Lemon Sorbet paint, then edged with Stickles Diamond. The picture doesn't show it, but the green, purple/pinky, and gold glints from the Stickles goes perfect with the Mint Green Double Dot Scrapbook Paper and purple cover paper.
